Creation of Comm Tech Dept favors Bataan ecozones

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia said the other day that the creation of a Department of Information and Communication Technology is a big boon to the labor intensive business process outsourcing industry at the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) which is the fastest growing investments hub in Central Luzon.

Speaking before newsmen, Garcia explained that the province is expected to benefit from the enactment of the new department that would immensely improve the information and communication technology aspect of BPO with the on-going construction of Grand Innovasia Concept Corporation (GICC) Techno Park inside the huge ecozone complex in Mariveles town.

Garcia explained, another law known as the Rationalization of Fiscal Incentives Acts is another milestone in the BPO industry with its expected more attractive tax incentives and other benefits to be granted to foreign and local locators.

He said the rehabilitation of the capitol into a mixed-use facility in the near future would create about 15,000 – 20,000 new jobs and the operations of the GiCC Techno Park with another 15,000 to 20,000 jobs for information technology graduates.

The Governor revealed that several investors from Asian and European countries have been sending trade missions to evaluate and assess the business prospects in the manufacturing and technology plants in the province’s six ecozones.

Garcia added the investors have been seriously considering the sufficient and stable power supply, good infrastructure and communication facilities, peace and order situation, active participation of the community in promoting a healthy business climate, good governance, numerous tax incentives and public-private business partnership.
