The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed various road projects in the Province of Bataan.
DPWH reported to 1Bataan News the upgrade of the 235-linear meter section of Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) in Dinalupihan.
The P6.6 million road reconstruction project was implemented by DPWH Bataan 1st District Engineering Office.
District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said motorists complaining about the poor condition of the road will now experience a smoother ride.

DPWH is keen to provide a more comfortable and safer journey to commuters passing through JASA.
“The road network is the main road that connects the provinces of Bataan and Zambales. Hence, its completion will also benefit travelers going to various tourism destinations in the western part of Central Luzon,” he added.
The project includes replacement of damaged pavements and installation of road safety features such as thermoplastic pavement markings.
In Hermosa town, DPWH also finished the 249-linear meter portion of the Hermosa-Subic Connector Road.
The 17.74-kilometer access road begins at Hermosa Ecozone Industrial Park and ends at Subic Bay Freeport Zone. D.E. Flores said the project is a multi-year undertaking jointly implemented by DPWH Regional Office III and Bataan 1st District Engineering Office.
A total of P9.79 million has been allocated in the 2022 national budget for the completion of the four-lane, 249-linear meter road section.
“Construction of this access road will not only connect the Hermosa EcoZone Industrial Park to Clark International Airport, but also to seaports and other industrial zones in the region,” Flores added.

Once the access road is 100 percent complete and operational, Bataan’s popular tourism destinations will be easily accessible as tourists will have a faster, shorter, and more convenient route to travel.
Lastly, DPWH recently completed the off-carriageway improvement project along Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) in Dinalupihan, Bataan.
The P9.79-million infrastructure will benefit motorists and residents of barangay Sta. Isabel. Engr. Flores reported its scope of works includes paving of approximately 432.6 linear meters of road shoulders and construction of concrete slope protection with safety devices measuring 412.6-linear meters.
“The project is seen to improve the safety of road users, as the upgraded road shoulders can serve as an emergency lane for vehicles in need of immediate repair or a safe bike lane for bikers passing through this route,” he told 1Bataan News.
Safety of motorists traveling along JASA will be ensured as the newly constructed concrete slope protection can prevent road collapse.
“The stability of soil slopes is often affected by water seepage caused by continuous heavy rainfall. We designed the project’s concrete slope protection to effectively protect the road from possible erosion or collapse,” Flores added.
The project was implemented under the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Program with funds sourced from the 2022 national budget.
