DPWH District I Engr. Erlindo Flores said that, for 2021, various priority road projects are now underway following the release of their more than P2 billion budget with additional P500 million worth of projects to be implemented by DPWH Region 3.

Pending receipt of their approved budget under the GAA (Government Appropriations Act) of 2021, Engr. Flores said that a bigger slice of said funds will be appropriated to the implementation of the Mabiga-Morong-Subic road project connecting Bataan and Subic via the Hermosa portion.
Engr. Flores also said that the convergence road will not only open prime eco-tourism destinations in the provincebut will also provide better roads and accessibility among commuters, farmers and traders from remote barangays and municipalities in the areas.

Flores added that two or more road constructions will be started this year in Barangays Sapangbalas, San Ramon and Naparing, all in Dinalupihan to boost agri-business and other agro-tourism industries in the said town.

Meanwhile, commuters of the first district will be happy to know that DPWH is fast-tracking the completion of the Calaguiman bridge in Samal by June of this year, to shorten travel time of commuters, ease traffic congestion, and give people the much-needed relief in the delivery of services.

In an effort to mitigate floodings in Dinalupihan, Engr. Flores mentioned the completion of three (3) flood control structures in Barangays Dalao, Maligaya and Pita of which new flood walls have been completed to serve as protection of families residing near the river.
