In an emergency coordination meeting on surveillance/monitoring and prevention of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019 NCoV) held last January 28, Provincial Health Office Head Dra. Rosanna Buccahan dispelled rumors on the existence of the virus in the province.
“There is nothing to worry about, we do not have seaports directly linked to Wuhan and every vessel passing through ports have already passed through our bureau,” Bureau of Quarantine Station chief Dr. Emmanuel Sto. Domingo said.
Despite the increasing number of Persons Under Investigation (PUI) in the Philippines, the Department of Health confirmed that there are no positive cases reported and safety measures such as isolation for PUIs are already being done.
Bataan PHO is the first province in the region to conduct a coordination meeting regarding the 2019 NCoV.
