DTI extends P1.6M-assistance to Mariveles bagmakers

DTI Region 3 Director Judith Angeles congratulated the recipients and told them to take goodcare and put into good use the equipment. “With this high tech equipment, we are assured to produce more quality bags and be more competitive in capturing the big market,” said Carlisa Magabo, Mariveles Bagmakers MPCI chairperson.

Provincial Board Member Jose Villapando and officers of the different cooperatives in Mariveles graced the important occasion held at the Heroes Hall in Balanga City last Friday.

DTI Region 3 reportedly has a budget of P100M with P30M intended for Bataan. During the first launching of SSF in Bataan, Director Angeles said this is DTI’s contribution to the inclusive growth program of President Benigno Aquino. The first three recipients of SSF projects in Bataan were organizations from Limay, Pilar and Balanga City. The town of Pilar received equipment for processing peanut butter and banana chips while an Aeta organization in Limay received tools for processing root crops.

The Bataan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (BACCII) chaired by businesswoman Amanda Battad received P1.6M-worth of gadgets for its packaging and processing center and can sealing.
