GCash recognizes Bataan for sustainable financial digitalization

GCash conferred the Provincial Government of Bataan, under the leadership of Gov. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III, the Leader in Sustainable Financial Digitalization recognition during the GCash Digital Excellence Awards 2025 held last February 19 in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Board Member Popoy del Rosario accepted the award on behalf of the governor, representing the Province’s sustained work in supporting digital payment solutions that help make public service transactions more efficient and accessible.

GCash cited the award as a recognition for government institutions that consistently support financial digitalization initiatives, including the wider adoption of cashless transactions and digital payment solutions that help simplify processes for constituents.

Gov. Garcia continues to promote initiatives that encourage wider digital adoption, including expanding cashless payment channels for government-related transactions and supporting digital payments in public markets, businesses and transportation.

Also recognized during the event were the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP)–Bataan Chapter, led by Mayor Tony Pep Raymundo, and the Municipal Government of Morong, which received the Digital Breakthrough Growth Award accepted by Mayor Leila Linao-Muñoz and Vice Mayor Chermaine Garcia-Sibug.
