PILAR, Bataan A family with the help of some generous people distributed 20,000 bottled water to the faithful who joined the Mt. Samat Pilgrimage this town, last Saturday.

The family of Gemo Espinosa donated and collected bottled water from friends for distribution at the pilgrimage. Members of the Espinosa Family, workers of JME and EMJ Emission Testing Centers and businesses the family operates, together with youths from Barangay Poblacion, Balanga City distributed the bottled water atop Mt. Samat.

It was the third consecutive year the family distributed water at the pilgrimage. They also gave packed food to policemen detailed at the religious affair.

The pilgrimage is an annual event of the Diocese of Balanga since 2004 to mark the First Sunday of Advent. The pilgrims walk their way seven kilometers from the foot of the famous mountain to the World War II monument, the Dambana ng Kagitingan (Shrine of Valor), where a giant war memorial white cross (90.4 meters) stands. This is one of Bataan’s major tourist attractions that from afar, looks “as if it is swaying with the clouds”.
