GN Power Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) recently led the inauguration and blessing of the covered plaza of Barangay BASECO Country together with Rev. Fr. Marvin Gomez, OSJ, the Barangay Alas-asin, Sto Niño Parish Church Priest, and the local officials.

Joseph Chavez, GMEC Community Relations Program Manager started the program with his inspirational message, followed by a representative from the Municipality of Mariveles Executive Secretary, Randall Concepcion.

Barangay Chairwoman of BASECO Country Hon. Leonida Valderama, expressed her gratitude towards the company and wishes for continuous success of the collaborations to future projects.

“I am glad to be able to witness another successful social development program,” said Arcel Madrid, AVP for Community Relations of GMEC. Madrid acknowledges the important role of social progress through the enhancement and modernization of public facilities to ensure the sustainable development of the community. He added that though Barangay BASECO Country is not its host community, the barangay is one of the nearest barangays adjacent to the plant site. “GMEC will always take part and support the barangay to campaign towards progress”, Mr. Madrid added.
