Gov. Abet leads opening of Bataan’s 2nd molecular lab

During the blessing of the Mariveles District Hospital-Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory (MDH-MDL) this morning, April 23, Governor Abet Garcia congratulated the MDH Team for the successful establishment of the second RT-PCR testing laboratory in the province.
Being a densely populated town, the hardworking governor also confirmed the establishment of a second inoculation center inside the FAB to be able to reach the target of vaccinating 5,000 Bataeños a day once supply of vaccines is steadily available.

In his message, MDH Chief Dr. Hector Santos said,” Lahat po ng machines na gagamitin natin ay state-of-the-art, napakabilis po, fully automated pero wala po tayong ginastos doon ni-singko at libre po natin syang gagamitin,” He also thanked Macare Medicals Inc. President Mr. Florizel De Pano, a native of Orani, who chose to partner with the province in this endeavor.
Dr. Santos also announced Mr. De Pano’s donations of one (1) RT-PCR machine, one (1) 4-cartridge, and (1) 16-cartridge GenExpert machine to further boost the testing capability of the laboratory.

Dr. Hector Santos likewise announced the soon-to-open 1Bataan Malasakit Dialysis Assistance Center (1BMDA) inside the MDH that would cater to dialysis patients in need of eposino and dialyzers and those in need of financial assistance.
In a related development, the Provincial Government and MDH are currently in talks with a private system developer in its bid to connect barangay health offices, rural health units, and the district hospital for a gatekeeping procedure to attain a Service Delivery Network which is also part of the implementation of Universal Health Care

Joining Gov. Abet in the said event were DOH Provincial Director Dr. Francisco Hermoso, Bataan 2nd District Representative Congressman Joet Garcia, Vice Governor Cris Garcia, SP Committee Chair on Health Board Member Bong Galicia, Mariveles Mayor Jocelyn Castañeda, Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Administrator Emmanuel Pineda, Provincial Health Office Head Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, Macare Medicals, Inc. Representative Mr. Aristotle De Pano, MDH-MDL specialists and staff.
