Hospitals in Bataan are now well-equipped and much better compared to the previous months during the height of lockdown due to surge in COVID-19 cases.
This was announced by Bataan Gov. Albert S. Garcia during the recent visit of German Ambassador to the Philippines Her Excellency Anke Reiffenstuel to launch the flood-proofing project of the Jose C. Payumo Memorial District Hospital.
Answering queries during the press conference as to the present situation in public hospitals, the governor said Bataan hospitals are now in better position to cope with any eventuality more particularly with the coronavirus pandemic.
Garcia said that during the height COVID-19, Bataan hospitals were completely crowded and overwhelmed with the surge of number of patients from different parts of the province. He said Bataan has overcome the problems because of new hospital facilities for Covid-19 patients like the mega quarantine facility in Orani town.
Another quarantine facility is going to rise in Dinalupihan where about 200 COVID-19 local patients can be accommodated at a time. Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia said the inauguration of the said facility may take place anytime this month.
