Gov. Abet signs P3.1 B budget for 2020

Gov. Abet Garcia signed last Friday, November 29, during a special session held at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan session at The Bunker, Appropriation Ordinance no, 8-6 series of 2019 or the Budget Ordinance in the amount of P3.1 Billion pesos.
Said recently approved budget showed a 10% increase based on the previous year’s budget as per records provided by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO).

According to Gov. Abet, the 2020 budget submitted by the SP Finance Committee headed by Board Member Rey Ibe, is pro-poor, pro-education, pro-health, pro-peace and order, pro-poverty alleviation as well as pro-environment, supported by the recent passing of the Environment Protection
Enhancement fee, giving the province an additional collection of P200 M pesos.

In an interview with the Provincial Treasurer, Ms. Alice Magpantay, the salient features of the 2020 Budget are the following; 1)increase of 10%, 2) General Revision of Property Assessment for Real Property 3) Guaranteed income from the Bunker in the amount of P18M and 4) the implementation of the Revised Bataan Revenue Code which includes Environment Protection Enhancement fee- P1M, Conveyance fee- P1M and Socialized Housing taxes in the amount of P153.4 M.
