BATAAN CAPITOL – Fresh from a major governance technology event in Singapore last week, Bataan Governor Abet S. Garcia announced the topping off ceremony of The Bunker on Monday, July 10.

Gov. Garcia said that in European custom in building construction, topping out (sometimes referred to as topping off) is a builders’ rite traditionally held when the last beam (or its equivalent) is placed atop a structure during its construction.

Nowadays, the ceremony is often parlayed into a media event for public relations purposes. After the topping off ceremonies, the development of interior designs, etc. of the building will follow.

The Bunker will house the new Bataan Government Center and Business Hub, the first real one stop shop in the country connecting all the local, provincial and regional offices of national government agencies all in one roof.

The compound will also have business process outsourcing centers, restaurants, hotels and other business establishments.

Garcia reported to Bataan Capitol officials and employees that VFS Global will be the technology provider of a system that will be used in all the online government transactions at The Bunker. The said company is in charge of visa processing of 20 countries.
