BALANGA CITY, Bataan – All Holy Masses in Bataan Thursday evening and Friday morning were offered in seeking for the grant of amnesty to Overseas Filipino Worker Mary Jane Veloso who is facing death penalty in Indonesia.
“Let us implore our Almighty God to soften the hearts of the officials of the Indonesian government to heed positively to our request,” Bishop Ruperto Santos of the Diocese of Balanga said. Santos is chairman of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Committee on Migrants and Itinerant People.
“We appeal that they will tamper their justice with mercy so as to spare the life of Mary Jane,”
the Bataan prelate said. He asked that members of the diocese continue to pray fervently.
