Jail warden assures safety of inmates

BATAAN PROVINCIAL JAIL – Supt. William Tauli, Provincial Warden of the Bataan District Jail, has assured the safety of the more than 2,000 prisoners in the province.

In their recent courtesy call on Governor Abet S Garcia, Supt. Tauli said that various security measures have been put up to ensure the safety of the inmates, around 220 of whom are women.

Tauli’s action came following the deadly attack of gunmen in a jail in Cagayan de Oro and Leyte where several high profile inmates were sprung from the jail and the controversial shooting to death of a town mayor.

“We are securing the facilities properly, though it is very hard, if ever there is a plan to spring inmates from the district jail, because it is just a stone’s throw away from the Bataan PNP headquarters,” pointed out Tauli, adding there is only one identified high profile inmate inside the jail.

“We are also adopting security measures when we are escorting prisoners who are attending court hearings outside to prevent untoward incidents,” added Tauli.

The Jail warden also expressed appreciation to Gov. Garcia’s support for them, such as food subsidy, among others.
