BALANGA City, Bataan- It was like the meeting of the east and the west on Tuesday when daycare children joined senior citizens in a parade and dance-exercise as a pre-Valentine celebration in San Jose, one of the most progressive in 25 barangays in this city.

The kids aged four to five years are under the San Jose Daycare Center while the elderlies are diabetic members of the “Sweet Lovers Club” in the village.

Teacher Lorna Quintos and aide Beth Moster patiently attended to the children under the watchful eyes of parents who participated in the dance-exercise (hataw) at the covered court sandwiched by the daycare center and the barangay hall.

Workers from the barangay health center checked the blood pressures of senior citizens to determine their fitness for the parade and the hataw.

Dr. Mariano Banzon, City Health Officer, said this was the first time the children joined members of the “Sweet Lovers Club” in the activity.

“Magandang senyales ito sapagka’t nagbibigay sigla ang mga kabataan sa katandaan samantalang nadarama naman ng mga bata ang pagsisikap ng matatanda para sa kanilang kalusugan,” the doctor said.
