Bataan officials led the groundbreaking on Friday afternoon of the P400-million Limay General Hospital in Limay, Bataan. “This hospital is a dream for Limay officials, a dream for Mayor Nelson David and Vice Mayor Richie David, to provide hospital needs to residents of Limay and nearby towns”, said Bataan 2nd district Congressman Abet Garcia. “We have already secured the needed funding of P400 million, which will come from the provincial government, Limay LGU, and DPWH. “We believe the DPWH will see to it that within a year we already have a well-constructed Limay General Hospital”, the congressman added as DPWH Bataan District 2 Engr. Ulysses Llado approvingly listened.
Gov. Joet Garcia said he is confident that a law will be passed to make Limay General. Hospital nationally funded under the Department of Health. He also said a DOH official told him that Limay General Hospital could be made a regional center for trauma.
Limay Mayor Nelson David said the Limay General Hospital has long been a dream for them as it will serve the hospital needs of their residents. He added even residents of nearby towns can be served by the hospital.
Limay Vice Mayor Richie David profusely thanked Gov. Joet Garcia and Cong. Abet Garcia for the hospital echoing that the project would have tremendous positive impact to their town and constituents. He also thanked Atty. Christopher Ryan Tan of Hauslands Group who joined the groundbreaking ceremony. Hauslands donated the lot in St. Francis 2 as site of the hospital.
