The “Start Early, Live Healthy” program, aimed at promoting healthy living and hygienic life style at a very early age identified fifty (50) four year old girls from Cataning, Balanga City, its adopted barangay, as the beneficiaries.
The young girls participated in a lecture/demo of proper hygiene and received hygiene kits and live your dream pins. Being hygienic is the start of healthy living and this should start at an early age so that they will practice it throughout their lives. Prior to this activity, SI Bataan conducted skills training and livelihood assistance programs among the parents of these girls.
At the Anti Teen Dating, VAWC, Anti Trafficking Orientation and Girls Focus Group Discussion, one hundred (100) private high school students participated and SI Bataan President Jacqueline Rapunzel Tigas acted as the facilitator. Problems encountered by the teenage girls were discussed as well as their plans and aspirations. They were also given a chance to share among themselves their way of coping with the complexities of teenage life nowadays.
To gain more partners and supporters province wide, SI Bataan packaged all its programs and causes and introduced these to the province during one of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan session. During the Soroptimist week celebration other sectors were likewise encouraged to support the club’s programs, one of which is the Balanga City High School wherein 180 students signed up in the liveyourdream.org website.
