According to Councilor Tito Catipon, the more or less 4 hectares, site of the Mariveles quarantine facility in Barangay Alas-asin was actually purchased during the time of former mayor AJ Concepcion.
“It was originally intended to be the venue for a dialysis center, evacuation center, MDRRMO building, and other government facilities”, he also said.

“It is a good thing that Mariveles LGU purchased the lot”, Catipon added.
The DPWH constructed the quarantine facility using funds from the national government.
“Gov. Abet Garcia has pledged P1.5 million from the provincial government for the concreting of the facility’s premises”, the councilor said.
“We just have to be ready for anything because we still have the coronavirus in our midst”, Catipon ended.
