The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Mariveles led by Vice Mayor Lito Rubia has asked Peninsula Electric Cooperative (Penelco) to extend payment of electric bill in this town to help residents paticularly those who lost jobs or just returned from work.
Aside from Rubia, other members of SB who attended the regular session on Septembet 29 were Councilor Tito Catipon, Councilor Angel Sunga, Councilor Susan Murillo,
Councilor Jaja Castañeda, Councilor Harry Golocan, Councilor Ronald Arcenal, ABC President Venancio Villapando Jr., SKMF PresidentVincent Charles Banzon . and IP Representative Manuel Pacaya.
“Residents came to us to ask help regarding the disconnection of their electricity for not being able to settle their bill on time”, said SB Mariveles in their FB page.
Many workers at the companies inside the Freeport Area of Bataan are working without overtime or in limited hours. There are those who just returned to work or worse lost jobs.
Most of non-regular workers rent houses or stay in dormitories in Mariveles.
Arcenal motioned the resolution and was unanimously approved by the SB members requesting Penelco to extend payment of electric bill for residents here.
SB Mariveles, motioned by Golocan, also passed a resolution asking landlords in this town to give “utmost consideration” to their tenants who lost their jobs or have not returned to work yet due to pandemic.
