The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) provided financial assistance to qualified beneficiaries in the field of culture and arts affected by the pandemic in our province. Among whom are local artists and cultural workers who are not under an employer-employee relationship, without a regular income, working as a consultant, freelancer, self-employed, with no benefits, and whose sources of income are affected by the cancellation of events, and other activities due to the community quarantine.
As a gesture of appreciation, last November 4 – 11, the Culture and Heritage Preservation Team of the Provincial Government of Bataan spearheaded the repair and enhancement of the Tomas Pinpin monument in Abucay and mural painting in Balanga City with the help of 46 local artists and cultural workers who benefited from the said program.
