The Bataan Government Center and Business Hub dubbed as “The Bunker” is poised to fight red tape and promote the ease of doing business in the country.
Governor Albert Raymond Garcia presented Thursday the new capitol building to President Rodrigo R. Duterte who led the unveiling of the commemorative marker.
He said to the President that the new hub is the province’s modest contribution to the national campaign against red tape.
“It will be recalled that in his first Cabinet meeting in Malacañang on June 30, 2016, the President ordered all department secretaries to cut red tape in their offices since he doesn’t want our constituents waiting,” Garcia stressed.
According to Garcia, the new capitol building will serve more people and will cater public services under one roof and one system.
“The Bunker at the Capitol will mainly serve as a one-stop shop citizen center,” he added.
The governor revealed that frontline national and local government offices needed for the delivery of fast and hassle-free government transactions will be located at The Bunker.
“It will house not only various departments of our provincial government but also government financial intermediaries like the Landbank, Development Bank of the Philippines, and Veterans Bank,” Garcia furthered.
Moreover, key national government agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Pag-Ibig Fund, Land Transportation Office, National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, and Land Registration Authority will also be found at The Bunker.
Garcia vowed that with Bataan’s vision to improve the quality of life of every Bataeño, he will further intensify government services needed by the public.
Back in 2018, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognized Bataan as Most Business-Friendly Province in the country awarded by President Duterte himself to Garcia.
