A five day training and seminar was conducted by the Bataan Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) together with Samal Bureau of Fire Protection at Samal, Bataan last January 20-24, 2014.
Enthusiastically participated by Local Officials and Barangay Tanod from the different Barangays of the Municipality of Samal lead by Mayor Generosa “Gene” Malibiran-Dela Fuente, the activity aims to empower the Barangays by providing knowledge on Basis Rescue Techniques, Basic First Aid, Basic Firefighting and Water Search and Rescue (WaSaR).
Bataan PDRRMO led by Ms. Teresita Señora and headed by Engr. Carlos Dela Fuente regularly conducts such trainings and seminar throughout Bataan to provide the necessary skills and information which can be used in times of Emergency and Disaster. By doing so, the PDRRMO hoped that by this will pave the way for the long term goal to have each Municipality of Bataan form their own Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
PDRRMO hopes to be in closer coordination with other Municipalities and encourages them conduct these training and seminar provided which will benefit their constituents.
