BALANGA CITY, Bataan- In a bid to boost the tourism industry in Bataan, Tourism officers from various towns and city met the other day at Bataan Tourism Center here.
Aside from tourism projects, the group also wanted to enrich their marketing and advertising strategy in their effort to polish the image of their own locality to attract tourists.
Led by Herbert Santiago, tourism officer of the town of Abucay, the group had also discussed communication plan and branding, said Jose Mari Garcia, chief of the Philippine Information Agency for Bataan.
The tourism program was also participated by personnel of Philippine Information Agency-Bataan who voluntary offered to provide technical assistance and layout of the brochure to be used in the dissemination of information on the tourism sites of the province.
“We will also offer how to strengthen social networking sites in the towns to make the tourism program effective ,” said Garcia
Earlier, Catholic Bishop Ruperto Santos told newsmen that although Bataan is rich in tourism sites such as the historical Mt Samat in Pilar town; crystal clear water of beaches in Morong town; the famous Sibul spring in Abucay town; and others, the dissemination of information programs here appeared to be silent and weak.
“Ang dami ngang magagandang tanawin na magugustuhan ng mga tourist sa lalawigan pero mukhang kulang tayo ng propaganda at comminication para maibalita ito,” lamented Bishop Santos.
