ORANI, Bataan – The potential has always been there. With her win in the National Age Group tournaments in Paranaque City last June 17, Colleen is now knocking at the door of International Tournaments.

Colleen started competing in the National Tennis Tournament at the age of 9, competing in different parts of the country representing her school, Academy of Queen Mary and the province of Bataan. At 11, she ranked 2 in the 12 girls’ category by PHILTA (Philippine Lawn Tennis Association).  At 14, she got her 1st international exposure when she joined the Philippine Team that competed in Langkawi , Malaysia  for the International Lawn Tennis Circuit where she won a gold medal, the only gold won by the team.

Under the guidance of Coach Martin Misa (Philippine National Coach), Colleen is training hard for her upcoming tournaments in Vietnam come July, in Malaysia and Australia by October. Hopefully we can see our first Filipino winning a GRAND SLAM in TENNIS.

Born on October 9, 1999, in Orani, Bataan Chrislyn Colleen L. Sioson is the eldest child of  Christopher and Jennylyn. Sioson. She has two brothers Joseph, 7  and Carl, 5.

A 9th grade student at the Academy of Queen Mary in Orani, Colleen started playing tennis at the age of 8. Since then she has never stopped playing, partly because her family  also plays tennis, especially her Dad Chris who understands the need of the sport and supports her all the way. Aside from her father, her first mentor is Coach Richard Cunanan an ITF coach, and a former national player who imparted to her his knowledge in training and in national and international competitions.

During their holiday in Australia in August 2009 Colleen had the chance to train for a month at the Tony Podesta Tennis Camp in NSW, Sydney AUS, under Christina Horiatopolous a former top junior player in AUS and top 106th  in world ranking doubles player in her time and one of the coaches of the tennis camp. Colleen was also given the rare opportunity to join in various tournaments in AUS.
