Thai investor hailed for environmental projects in Bataan

BALANGA CITY, Bataan-  Provincial officials here lauded yesterday a Thailand-based investor for launching various environmental projects in the country in support to the National government’s greening program.

 Wisarn Chawalitanon, President of PTT Philippines, has been leading his staff in conducting various environmental programs, such as tree planting, offering gas-for-free in exchange for planting tree, conducting environmental summit to protect and preserve the country’s environment, among others.

BALANGA CITY — The life of Bataan’s most celebrated father, statesman and leader will be immortalized as an autobiography of 2nd District Representative Enrique “Tet” Garcia, Jr. is set to be launched in July this year.

Featuring the political career, trials and major achievements of the 73-year-old father of Bataan Governor Abet Garcia, Balanga City Mayor Joet Garcia and Dinalupihan Mayor Gila Garcia, the book is entitled, “A Man Called Tet”.

Bataan Ranks 2nd on LSI generation

MANILA, Philippines – Among the 80 provinces in the country, Bataan ranks second in terms of Locally Sourced Income (LSI) generation for the year 2013.

Amid continuous calls from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on provinces to fully develop their local revenue base instead of relying on the national government’s allocation, in its latest Tax Watch ad released Wednesday, June 18, BIR said that locally sourced income (LSI) of 56 of 80 provinces accounted for less than 15% of their regular income in 2013.
