The National Food Authority-Bataan, spearheaded by Provincial Manager, Adelaida C. Nuestro, once again joined the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Diskwento Caravan held at Plaza Mayor de Balanga (Balanga City Plaza) last November 19-21, 2014.
DTI usually conducts this activity at least twice a year – before the school term starts and before the Christmas season, to provide the consuming public, especially low income earners, with basic commodities and other commercial items at discounted prices.
As one of DTI’s partner agencies in ensuring the welfare of consumers and also as part of NFA’s program to guarantee that good quality and affordable rice is made available to the public, NFA-Bataan readily agreed to be a part of this important activity.
Consumers flocked the NFA booth to avail of the staple grain and at the end of the three-day caravan, the twenty five (25) bags of rice allocated for the activity were sold out.
