No hoarding of rice in Bataan 12 warehouse facilities

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Composite government team from the Central Luzon yesterday visited twelve (12) rice millers and warehouses to determine the quantity of commercial stocks and to check any incident of staple food hoarding.
Mrs. Adelaida Nuestro, National Food Authority (NFA) Bataan provincial manager, led the representatives from the National Intelligence and Coordinating Agency (NICA), Criminal Intelligence Detection Group (CIDG), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Police (PNP) and Bureau of Customs (BOC) which conducted the surprise inspections of rice mill and warehouse facilities in the towns of Orion, Pilar, Samal and Dinalulihan.
Mrs. Nuestro said the President ordered the nationwide assessment and evaluation to prevent hoarding of rice with the reported shortage of staple food due to the previous calamities hitting the country.
The warehouses in the province have limited inventories, however, government subsidized rice and commercial rice remained stable in the public markets and other outlets.
