BALANGA City, Bataan – Seven hundred thousand pesos worth of pediatric medical equipment packages were donated by the Orica Philippines to the Bataan General Hospital (BGH) in a formal turn-over ceremony held at the BGH Conference Room, this morning.
In her message, Dr. Glory V. Baltazar, BGH Medical Center Chief, thanked the donors, saying, “Kami po ay nagpapasalamat nang marami sa Orica Philippines. Ito po ay isang malaking biyaya na natanggap ng BGH.”
During the turn-over ceremony, the BGH team, in partnership with the members of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Coalition (MSGC), welcomed the Orica Philippines, Inc.
Orica is the only accredited manufacturer of dynamite in the Philippines. Committed in exercising its corporate social responsibility, Engr. Victor Cabunilas,Orica Phils manager disclosed that apart from their donation to BGH, they also have engaged in donating computers to chosen schools, gave learning aids for the blind, and helped repairing school buildings.
“Kami ay natutuwa dahil nabibigyan kami ng opportunity para tumulong. It is an honor for us to partner with communities to create lasting relationships,” said Engr. Cabunilas.
Included in the pediatric medical equipment donated are: Terumo Infusion Pump LF600, IntelliPAP Revilbiss Sleep Therapy Package (CPAP), and MP-III Handheld Pulse Oximeter.
“These equipment will be very helpful for our patients,” said Dr. Jocelyn Bongco, BGH Pediatric Department Head.
Also present during the ceremony were key members of Orica Philippines: Mr. Jumyrson Cabrillos, Production Manager; Garla Arcega, Technical Manager; Engr. Philip de Jesus, QShec and Security Manager; Nancy Quicho, Company Nurse; Julie Ann Tolero, Admin Assistant; and Dr. Ed Guzman, Company Physician.
Other attendees were members of the MSGC; Engr. Lito Peña and Mr. Geoffrey Loyola of the Provincial Management Information System Office.
