ORANI, Bataan – The Orani Water District (OWD) is set to bid and install the most modern P8 million Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and leak detection and monitoring set.
“All is set and we will post the bidding this month at PhilGEPS for transparency and so that the public may know and other interested bidders can join the bid,” OWD General Manager Andres said.
According to GM Andres, SCADA is a computer system designed to gather and analyze real time data, which he said is the first ever in Bataan. With the installation of the SCADA, we can easily monitor the daily operations and water supply in particular areas.
He added, the installation of SCADA and leak detection and monitoring set are two of the 5 components in their bid to upgrade OWD facilities to better serve the public. He pointed out that the new reservoir is glass fused to steel, which is the latest technology, and has a capacity of 1 million liters.
The fund of P101 million being used for the 5-component works came from a loan at KFW Bank in Germany though the Local Water Utilities Administration.-
