Dr. Hermogenes Paguia, Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services, was conferred the 2020 Philippine Federation of Professional Associations (PFPA) Distinction Award for the Agriculturist Profession. He personally received the award in a fitting ceremony held at UP Bahay Alumni on Friday.
BPSU community immediately expressed delight to the latest addition to Paguia’s string of achievements.
“Pride of BPSU”, Dr. Rowena Valerio of the College of Food and Technology described the multiawarded university official.
Paguia was project leader of many agricultural research and extension projects and has authored or co-authored several agriculture research studies. He has attended many international and national leadership and agricultural research conferences. Likewise, he has been invited as resource speaker in various national conventions.
For more than a decade now, he is leading the research on mango production in Central Luzon. With his research initiatives in the mango industry, Bataan Mango Development Council is in fact currently being formed in the province.
PFPA was formed in 1978 to bind all professional organizations for expediency in coordination and cooperation.
In 2005, the PFPA Excellence Awards was established to serve as inspiration to member-professionals to excel in their chosen fields of endeavor as well as motivate them to give their very best for the country.
