Payumo favors 3rd Bataan congressional district

Former Bataan 1st District Congressman and SBMA Chairman Tong Payumo is in favor of the proposed 3rd congressional district in the province.

Echoing the statement of the author of the bill in Congress, Bataan 2nd District Cong. Joet Garcia, he said, “bigger funds will be available for the province”.

“You have another district, you have additional funds for the province”, Payumo said.
Under the proposed Option 1, Garcia said the towns to be placed under the 1st district are Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani and Morong with a combined population of 291, 982; while 2nd district will be composed of Samal, Abucay, Balanga City, Pilar and Bagac with 252,825 residents. The third district will be Orion, Limay and Mariveles with a combined population of 277, 373.

In the second option, the towns of Hermosa, Samal, Orani and Abucay will be under 1st district with a population of 223,302; the 2nd district will be composed of Balanga, Orion, Pilar and Limay with a population of 283,550; and the 3rd district will composed of Dinalupihan, Bagac, Morong and Mariveles with a population of 315,328.
