PDRRMC holds 1st council meeting for 2016

CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – Attended by the heads of the different departments of the provincial government as well as representatives of national agencies, the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council chaired by Governor Albert S. Garcia held its first council meeting for 2016 yesterday, March 8 at the Bulwagan ng Bayan, this City.

PDRRMC Head, former PNP provincial director Audie Atienza in his welcome remarks gave the attendees an overview of what will transpire during the meeting and at the same time comprehensively discussed the structure and function of the PDRRMC as well as the protocols especially during emergency situations.

Ms. Rosalie Ona of the Department of Science and Technology gave an update on the El Niño & La Niña Phenomena while Ms. Imelda Inieto, Provincial Agriculturist discussed the effects of said phenomena. Dengue and ZIKA Virus as well as the New Castle Disease were discussed by representatives from the Provincial Health Office and the Provincial Veterinary Office.

Equally important topics discussed are the following: Disaster Management Approaches, SOP during Disaster, cloud based monitoring, rescue equipment, PDRRMO calendar of activities, Oplan SUMVAC, trainings, and activities in observance of the national disaster consciousness month
