PFF launches FIFA Football Arena in Balanga

Filipinos should find a sport suitable to their size — and that is football, according to John Anthony Gutierrez, president of Philippine Federation of Football (PFF) during the launching of FIFA Arena in Balanga City Elementary School last Tuesday.

Gutierrez encouraged elementary pupils of Balanga to join the football arena. “Huwag kayong mag-alala mga bata at mayroon tayong tutor na football star,” he assured the school children who all seemed eager to play football for the first time.

According to Niko Nouvannasak, a Canadian National who leads the FIFA Arena project in Balanga Elementary School, this is the first time where football game is being introduced to Grade 1 to Grade 3 pupils in the country and after more or less ten years these kids will become professional football players.

City Councilor BJ Fernandez who represented City Mayor Raquel Garcia said the use of school ground as FIFA Arena is free of charge.
