Another milestone will be recorded come January 18 when Philcement Corporation inaugurates its cement plant and port facilities in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).

A first of its kind in the country and possibly one of the largest in the world, the Philcement plant and port facilities signals Phinma’s re-entry into the cement industry and is expected to change the landscape of cement distribution significantly.

According to Ron Ranier Reyes, Senior Project Specialist, Public Affairs Unit, Philcement is bringing together private sector investment and expertise from the Philippines, Vietnam and China and is helping build bridges for partnership and cooperation in a region brimming with opportunities but brave enough to face serious challenges.

It will be remembered that Philcement, a 60% owned and subsidiary of PHINMA and Seasia Nectar Port Services Inc. (SNPSI) has inked a deal to acquire port facilities in Bataan during its groundbreaking ceremonies last February 27, 2018 and signed a memorandum of agreement with AFAB.

Present during the groundbreaking ceremony then were Gov,Abet Garcia for the Province of Bataan, AFAB Chairman Emmanuel Pineda, SNPSI Chairman Ramon Atayde and PHINMA Inc. Pres, Ramon del Rosario.

Meanwhile, Ranier Reyes said that some of the activities in the inauguration include plant and port blessings in the morning to be followed by a presscon at lunch, then a port and plant tour in the afternoon followed by a cocktail in the evening.
