PILAR, Bataan
– Mayor Alice Pizarro of this town, is now head over heels, with good vibes coming her way. They won a local (provincial) award, a national award and an international award, in a row this third quarter of 2016.

Mayor Alice has all the reasons to smile and undeniably, Pilar town must be the envy among municipalities, when they bagged the prestigious Ms. BATAAN 2016 last September, overtaking the usual crowd favorite, Ms. Dinalupihan who already had a grand slam in the last 3 consecutive years of the pageant.
Still savoring that sweet victory, another Pilarian by the name of Mark Anthony Guiao from Brgy. Wakas North, Pilar; a consistent honor student of Eastwood Professional College, and graduated Cum Laude in BS Mechanical Engineering, stole the thunder, when he won a gold medal and the title “Best of National Awards” in Malaysia at the ASEAN Skills Competition (CAD) last September.
And to top them all, the Municipality of Pilar is now a recipient of the, “Seal of Good Local Governance” which according to Mayor Alice Pizarro, is an award she’s been working hard to receive.
They will accept the award in a fitting ceremony together with Gov. Abet Garcia and other municipalities who are also winners, on Oct. 27, 2016 at the Sofitel Phil. Plaza, Pasay City.

Mayor Alice said that, the Seal of Good Local Governance Award, for her is a rejoinder, making sure the exercise of her power as an executive helps improve the quality of life of her constituents as well as improve further the efficiency and accountability of her office, promoting transparency and capability.
The Seal of  Good Governance used to be called “Good Housekeeping” under the late DILG Secretary Jessie Robredo, is given with a cash incentive of P1M to each recipient municipality, for them to create more effective projects in their localities.
