The local government unit of Pilar, under the leadership of Mayor Charlie Pizarro, is one of this year’s Gawad Kalasag awardees. Vice Mayor Ces Garcia and MDRRMO Maricel Aquino received the recognition in simple ceremonies held last week at The Manila Hotel.
“The Municipality of Pilar takes pride in being among the LGUs that garnered an excellent rating and qualified for this year’s Gawad Kalasag from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council”, the LGU stated.
“The award attests to our LDRRMO’s strict adherence to the prescribed standards for disaster prevention and mitigation”, it also said.
Other awardees are Provincial Government of Bataan, City Government of Balanga and the Municipality of Orion.
