The municipal government of Pilar, Bataan through the Sangguniang Bayan (municipal council) had passed an ordinance establishing the “Manila Bay Task Force” (MBTF) to take care of basic environmental concerns.
The said ordinance had been tackled in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and will obviously get the green lights of the board members.
The MBTF would be responsible for the development and recommendation of local policies for endorsement to the provincial board and shall ensure local government unit (LGU) compliance with the provisions of RA 9003 otherwise known as the “Ecological Waste Management Act of 2000.”
Pilar town is one of the fast- growing towns in the province’s Second District and has been picked as expansion site of the Authority of Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB).
Pilar Mayor Charlie F. Pizarro envisions his municipality as the future site of Bataan Global City where port and housing facilities will rise.
