Pres. Duterte appoints Gov. Abet as RDC chair

Pres, Duterte recently appointed Governor Abet Garcia as the new Regional Chair of the Regional Development Council (RDC) Region 3.
The Gov said that as much as possible, he doesn’t want to add more to his busy schedule, as he wants to focus more in Bataan but having been picked by the President among the nominees to chair the RDC that he couldn’t say “No”.

Gov. Abet explained that the RDC being the highest policy-making body, is a big opportunity since it serve as the counterpart of the NEDA Board at the subnational level as well as a primary institution that coordinates and sets the direction of all economic and social development efforts in the region.

The Governor added that in their recent meeting, they have discussed the midterm plan of the region and among the many projects in store for this fast growing region is the proposed Mariveles-Cavite bridge, which according to experts, will be the longest bridge in the world outside of China, that will put the province of Bataan in the world map.
