RDC3 OKs P729 million budget for BPSU

BALANGA CITY, BataanThe Regional Development Council (RDC) 3 recently passed a resolution favorably endorsing the 2016 budget of all 12 state universities and colleges (SUCs) in Central Luzon which has a total amount of P7.22 billion, including P729 million for the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU).

Approved funds include Aurora State College of Technology – P95.59 million, Bulacan Agricultural State College– P122.81 million, BPSU – P729.81 million, Bulacan State University – P1.49 billion, Central Luzon State University – P1.14 billion, and Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University- 758.14 million.

“The review and endorsement to the national government of the annual budgets of these SUCs as well as agency regional offices and special development authorities is pursuant to Section 4.d of Executive Order 325 of former president Fidel Ramos,” RDC Vice Chairman and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Director Severino Santos said.

In his speech, Dr. Gregorio Rodis, the new president of BPSU replacing Dr Delfin Magpantay who had just retired, wanted to focus further on boosting the existing rich human resources, capable faculty and active student organizations of BPSU. He aims to elevate the capability of the university faculty, improve its facilities, research and extension services to benefit BPSU’s 17,000 students.
