An Ordinance promoting Responsible Pet Ownership in Samal, Bataan providing penalties for negligent acts committed in keeping of pet animals and eradication of rabies sponsored by SB member Amy dela Rosa was launched yesterday to mandate pet owners responsibility.
The Ordinance states that the high incidence of animal bites in the municipality is alarming, thus in order to curb the increasing transmission of rabies, it is deemed urgent to enact a policy to promote responsible pet ownership while penalizing residents who are negligent in providing proper care to their pet animals.
At the kick off ceremony Mayor Macalinao said that Mun. Ordinance no. 19-007 promoting responsible pet ownership has been a widespread problem in the province thus they sought the help of an expert on the matter as to how to manage and sustain the program.
