The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Mariveles passed a resolution giving municipal level accredition to the Guardians Independent Division Association International Incorporared (GIDAI).
Councilor Tito Catipon, SB Chairman of the Committee on Cooperatives, NGOs, and Support Services, sponsored the accreditation of the association during the municipal council regular session on Tuesday.
Earlier, GIDAI with address at Brgy. Alas-asin, Mariveles, Bataan, wrote SB requesting for accreditation. Prior to giving accreditation, Catipon and other committee members conducted hearings to determine the purpose and advocacy of the group.
The councilor said they explained to the association during the hearing what will be their responsibility once accredited. Catipon said an accredited association is prioritized to be included in the choices to become member of local special bodies like local health board, local school board, and local development council.
