“Strengthening the Tie that Binds”


CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – In his bid to promote a peaceful and safe community, Provincial Director (PD) P/Sr. Supt. Benjamin Silo, Jr. of the Bataan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) spearheaded a fellowship event with the media personalities of the province yesterday at Camp Cirilo Tolentino, this City.

“Keep on supporting us. Inaasahan po namin ang tulong ninyo upang maiparating sa publiko ang mga mabubuting ginagawa ng ating kapulisan,” said PD Silo as he seeks strong ties with the media men.

Attended by different print and media broadcasting agents such as Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, Bataan Press Club, Net25, Power Radio, TV5 and 1Bataan, the event was tagged as “Strengthening the Tie that Binds.”

Prior to the fellowship program, a press conference was conducted as PD Silo, together with the Chiefs of Police of the different municipalities, highlighted their weeklong accomplishments from July 18-24, 2016.

Strengthening the fight against criminality and lawlessness, PD Silo was pleased to inform the press that criminality rate went down as they reinforce their drive to rid the province of illegal drugs.

During the presentation of the One-Time, Big-Time (OTBT) accomplishments of the BPPO, media men were given the chance to raise their questions.

PD Silo also laid down the steps undertaken by the drug surrenderees, the programs being offered to them which include skills training courses to be sponsored by the TESDA.

Ms. Susan Nisay, guidance coordinator of the Bataan National High School, was also present throughout the press conference as she requested help from the Bataan PNP after narrating the actual scenario in their school in connection with drugs. The Chief of Police of Balanga then said that they will address this problem.

Deputy Provincial Director for Administration and Company Commander of the Provincial Public Safety Company, P/Supt. Romell Velasco, said in his parting message that they are glad with the established good communication between them and the press, saying, “Napakasaya po namin na andito po kayo at sana po ay ipagpatuloy at paigtingin pa ang samahan ng kapulisan at ng mga media personalities.”
