The leadership tandem of Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gozon, in pushing for the waste management program launched a contest turning trash into Christmas decors. Cenro Balanga said Puroks entered in the contest Belen and Christmas decors made from recycled materials. Declared Champion was Purok 3; 2nd Place, Purok 5; and 3rd Place, Purok 1.
Councilor Jowee Nisay Zabala and Capt. Richard Sioson of Barangay Pto. Rivas Lote joined the judging activity. The city’s top two leaders want to encourage Balanga folks to recycle and minimize trash, also as a way of protecting the environment.
