The United States Agency for International Development’s TB Platforms Project recently conducted Tuberculosis (TB) screening to about 286 residents in barangays New and Old San Jose in Dinalupihan, Bataan.

Municipal Health Office Head Joselito Timple disclosed that recipients include daycare center children and their parents, senior citizens and contact of TB patients. Out of 286 patients, 131 of them are children while 155 are adults.

“Active Case Finding aims to screen patients for TB. It also finds a way to cater other health problems that maybe encountered incidentally,” he said.
TB program, in collaboration with other health programs, gives way to exercise Patient-Centered Approach and give a chance to implement TB Preventive Treatment.

“Psychologically, people benefit from the fact that they are not forgotten even during this pandemic. Any TB case finding effort leads the way to finding missing TB cases, enrolment to and completion of treatment addressing all aspects of the disease, and dawns the day when TB ends,” he furthered.
