Young environmentalists gather plastic garbage in Lamao

MORE than 30 sacks of garbage mostly plastics were collected by members of Young Bataenos Environmental Advocacy Network (YBean) at the coastal area of Sitio Ayam, Lamao, Limay, Bataan on Saturday, World Environment Day.

The youth led by Joecelle Magracia started the coastal clean-up as early as 6 a.m. Saturday with the theme “Ecosystem Restoration” with Pakistan as the host country of international event.

Collected garbage were mostly items made up of plastic, diapers, face masks, pieces of cloths, straws, foams, worn out ropes, jute sacks and pieces of decaying woods.
Lamao is a coastal sub-village of Limay town and host to a number power generating plants and an oil refinery.
