Young girls attend anti-teen dating violence seminar


CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – A firm believer of the age old adage “prevention is better than cure”, in its advocacy on anti-teen dating violence, SI Bataan is educating young girls on the difference between a healthy and an unhealthy relationship, what are the essentials in ensuring that they will have a healthy relationship when they bloom into fine young ladies and what will pave the way for their empowerment and self worth.

An annual activity of the club since 2012, this year, this advocacy campaign was conducted at the Bataan Christian School in Pilar in two (2) sessions for their 3rd and 4th year HS students.

Another advocacy that SI Bataan is very passionate about is on Anti Sexual Harassment in the Workplace. As one of the required policies in any establishment now, SI Bataan is also advocating Gender Equality and Anti Sexual Harassment in the workplace. The club president was invited to conduct the above mentioned orientations on one on one basis, through plant level and by different trade unions in the Province.

In related developments, the following activities were conducted in celebration of the Soroptimist Week and the Women’s Month: Thanks giving Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral, Balanga City; MOA Signing for adopted barangay and consultation meeting its Brgy, Council; tarpaulin hanging of different establishments province wide showing support to the club celebration of Soroptimist Week and also the club’s fundraising to finance its various programs for the welfare of women and women empowerment.

The club president also utilized the media by guesting in a radio program of Power Radio create public awareness on the advocacies, programs and sevices of SI Bataan.
