The Young Bataenos Environmental Advocacy Network (Young BEAN), a youth organization of budding environment enthusiasts in Bataan, and a fishermen’s group, planted mangrove trees on Thursday in the coastal areas of Orion and Limay.

Jochelle Magracia, head of Young BEAN, said the mangrove planting project is part of Earth Day celebration and a continuing advocacy against pollution.
The group planted 500 mangrove trees in Orion and 250 in Limay. It was participated in by 60 young men and women from different parts of Bataan.

“This is to send messages to the public to protect and restore the seas as source of food and livelihood,” said Magracia.
