Agri-aqua trade fair opens as part of Bataan Day celebration

BALANGA City – The Bataan Tourism Council Foundation (BTCF) in coordination with the Provincial Government and the Department of Trade and Industry on Thursday opened the Agri-Aqua Trade Fair as part of the observance of the 72nd Araw ng Kagitingan locally celebrated as Bataan Day. 

Successful entrepreneur Baby Cruz, guest of honor and speaker and BTCF chair Vicky Garcia formally opened the trade fair at the provincial capitol grounds in Balanga City.

3 Bataan towns to serve as landing areas for hot air balloons

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Three municipalities in this province will serve as landing areas in the upcoming Philippine International Balloon Festival 2014 on April 10 to 13 which will be staged in Barangay Prado Siongco, Lubao, Pampanga.

In his formal letter to Bataan Governor Albert S. Garcia, Hilario Castro Jr., the event chairman said, “It is expected that wind directions in April will bring all the balloons to the province of Bataan particularly in the Dinalupihan, Hermosa and Orani areas.”

Diorama of WWII events unfold at Bataan capitol

 BALANGA City, Bataan- A diorama of some significant events during World War II unfolded Tuesday at the capitol ground in Balanga City as part of the 72nd observance of “Araw ng Kagitingan”, remembered in the historic peninsula as “Bataan Day”.

The presentation started in December 1941 with a scene depicting happy residents celebrating their town fiesta with merry-making and roasted pig or lechon. Then to their surprise war broke out between the United States and Japan.

Tribal community now represented in Bataan

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan- Four Aetas from the Ambala tribe, three of whom are women, are the new members of the barangay and municipal councils.

 “Members of the Tribal Community here are now properly represented in the local council”, Mayor Gila S Garcia said, during the official oath-taking at the Dinalupihan Municipal Hall, after the flag-raising ceremony, Monday.
