Sa Araw ng Kagitingan 2014 at ika-72 anibersaryo ng pagbagsak ng Bataan

Isang magandang umaga po sa inyong lahat. 

   Nagsimula ang Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig sa panahong naghahanda na sa ganap na kasarinlan ang Pilipinas mula sa pagiging kolonya ng Amerika. At dahil nga narito pa ang mga hukbong Amerikano, nadawit na rin ang ating bansa sa isang malawakang digmaan. Sa pagkakataong sinasakop ang ating bayan, naging laban na rin natin ang kanilang laban. Noon pa man po, malinaw na sa mga Pilipino: Maliit man tayo, kung nasa tama tayo, lalaban tayo.

Philippines is no longer “Sick man of Asia”-Pres. Aquino

   MT SAMAT, Pilar, Bataan-  After successfully fighting corruption, Pres. Aquino said yesterday that the Philippines is no longer the “Sick man of Asia.”

   Speaking during the 72nd Araw ng Kagitingan in this historic place, Pres. Aquino proudly reported that the country is now on “Bright spot” in the world economy as he urged the Filipino people to be always on the right path.

   He said that despite the series of tragedies that the county had faced, the Filipinos were able to face it and survived.

Hermosa village to receive construction assistance from Japan

   PILAR, Bataan — Bataan Governor Albert Garcia today said that the perennially flooded barangay (village) in Hermosa town during rainy days will receive construction assistance from Japan. 

   During the 72nd Commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan at Mt. Samat in this town, Garcia told local newsmen in an ambush interview, that he has signed an agreement with Japanese Ambassador Toshinao Urabe to start the reconstruction of facilities in the low-lying Barangay Almacen.

   Earlier, Governor Garcia also confirmed that a total of P2.4 billion was allocated by the national government to fund the flood control project in Bataan and nearby Lubao, Pampanga dubbed as Hermosa-Dinalupihan-Lubao Flood Control Project.

Araw ng Kagitingan, pinangunahan ni Pnoy sa Bataan

PILAR, Bataan-  “ Kahit maliit lang tayo, kung tama tayo, lalaban tayo”.

   Ito ang mariing mensaheng ipinarating ni Pangulong Aquino sa mga beterano noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig, kaalinsabay sa ika-72 taong selebrasyon ng Araw ng Kagitingan, kung saan ginunita ang katapangan ng mga sundalong Amerikano at Pilipino sa pakikipaglaban sa mga Hapon noong nasabing digmaan, na ginanap sa 

   Dambana ng Kagitingan sa Mt. Samat, Pilar, Bataan.

   Kasama ni Pangulong Aquino na dumalo sa naturang pagdiriwang sina US Ambassador Phillip Goldberg , Japanesse Ambassador Toshinao Urabe, kabilang ang mga lokal na opisyal ng Lalawigan sa pangunguna ni Gov. Albert S. Garcia.  

Karanasan ng isang Beterano isinalaysay

Napaluha ang isang Pilipinong Beterano habang isinasalaysay sa mga reporter ang kanyang karanasan noong sumagupa siya sa mga kalabang Hapones noong World War ll, na sa darating na Abril 9, 2014 ay gugunitain ang ika-72 taong Araw ng kagitingan na may temang “Balik-tanaw sa Sakripisyo ng Beterano, Gabay sa Landas ng Pagbabago sa tuktok ng Mt. Samat sa Barangay Diwa, Pilar, Bataan.

Gov. Abet says flood problem can be solved; PNoy oks P3.8B fund

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan-Still reeling from the destructive flash flooding that hit this Northernmost town of Bataan, Gov. Abet S Garcia assured Sunday that the government is doing all it could to resolve the problem, even as the Aquino administration, through the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), has approved the Multi-Year Obligation Authority (MYOA) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with the Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF).

Speaking during the first ever Barangay Assembly launched in Barangay Pag-asa here by Mayor Gila S. Garcia, the bachelor governor said that the flooding problem is really severe “but there is no insoluble problem.”

Bataan gets highest slot for SPES

 BATAAN Capitol- This province is the biggest beneficiary of the government’s Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) that will benefit a total of 6,134 out of the 18,352 poor but deserving college and vocational students in Central Luzon who will be given an opportunity to work in private companies and local government units (LGUs) this year under the SPES.

 This writer learned that the Bataan Provincial Government alone, through Governor Abet S. Garcia will recruit around 2,000 students for summer jobs this year while Balanga City under Mayor Joet S. Garcia  is also hiring 2,500 students and Dinalupihan town under Mayor Gila S. Garcia will hire another 500 working students.
