DENR, Mariveles tackle foreshore delineation

Local authorities headed by Vice Mayor Jesse Concepcion and representatives of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) discussed in a meeting foreshore line delineation within the jurisdictionsof Mariveles and Bagac. The meeting was led by Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Raul Mamac, who headed the DENR delegation.

Vice Mayor Concepcion said the initiative aims to clearly define the boundaries of foreshore areas to guide their proper use, protection, and development.

“Nakasama po natin ang mga kinatawan mula sa DENR sa isang pagpupulong upang talakayin ang kanilang planong foreshore line delineation sa loob ng hurisdiksyon ng Mariveles at Bagac. Layunin po nitong malinaw na matukoy ang hangganan ng mga foreshore area sa ating lugar upang magsilbing gabay sa wastong paggamit, pangangalaga, at pagpapaunlad ng ating mga baybaying lupain,” Concepcion said.

Mayor AJ Concepcion supported the meeting acknowledging the importance of proper coastal management and sustainable development.

The foreshore delineation project is expected to help local government units strengthen regulation, ensure environmental protection, and promote responsible utilization of coastal resources.
